A window with a view

The sun came up as I remembered that day when you kissed me then named me your beautiful queen.
Now, I am no longer your love
nor do I fill any of your dreams.
In the window for hours I sat to see,
praying every car was you returning
to love and to save me!
But, as each one had passed...
I felt my heart had been left with
only a pain as I struggled to gasp.
The time had crept from the night then back into the day,
as I sat wondering what you would say.
I couldn't help but wonder where you could have been or how it had so
easily came to be,
how you had once loved me and now no longer had a care for me!
Thoughts of me you chose to forsake,
leaving me with only a wonder,
how it were me trapped by my own love you so easily disgraced?
My tears I watched fall from cheek to page and with each one that fell
I was forced to see,
the love we once shared is now gone and
my heart without a care you had set free!

Beautiful beautiful Kerrie. Reading your poem caused memories to surface when I myself lacked understanding in the ways of compassion and love. But the thought that rang most true. Was that one day you'll meet the one and then know why it didn't work before. You're simply being saved for something greater. God bless. Ed

I like your style of writing. I hope you found another one. Who bewitched us men? This honeyed poetess deserves some warm male companionship! Excellently worded...7+++!!

Hi Kerrie. I feel your pain in the words you have so emotionally and tenderly placed into your poem. It is always hard to loose a love so grand but it surely does prepare us to be more insightful with life and love. The heart is fragile and you have shared your heart with us and because of that you will be stronger. A pleasure to read..... Robert.

This poem is nice. It expresses a lot of emotions. So touching. Yeah it's really sad when someone you love leaves you and doesn't come back. That's how things are. Nothing is permanent in this world. I am curious about what really the story behind this poem is. :)

Your "Immortal - Soul" laid bare for the whole world to see...all rather elegant - in a very enchanting way! :) john.

This is a beautiful poem, laid out well and described with feelings written with the heart and edited by a poetic soul. A personal and up close look into the private life of a woman abandoned by love. Emile. #7
