Historic Hearts

Adam and Eve were the first opposite pair-
she made from the rib of her mate's chest;
prior to their sin both walked in Eden bare,
lost innocence through an unwelcome guest.

Anthony and Cleopatra, Egyptians of class-
undying devotion in spite of her high crown;
due to their deaths, their union failed to last,
in an afterlife the loving duo remains sound.

Romeo and Juliet, a young love of the ages-
bond of strength, oh so near to each other;
the story played on so many modern stages,
such commitment they had for one another.

A few lines about lovers through the years.
Their tragic end often bring many to tears.
