Standing on the stage all alone,
I have a decision to make:
Turn around and run back home
Or stand tall and be brave.
I could leave in fear
Like thousands of times before,
Or I could stay up here
As they lock the escape door.
The crowd stares at me in anticipation,
Waiting for my feet to fail and stumble
So they can laugh and point in reaction
To my vulnerability as I tumble.
They'll walk away and say I failed;
They can laugh and point all they want.
But with God up here when everyone bailed,
He comforts for courage and bravery won.
