Magic Beans

Out of the shadows, towards winter’s end A man emerged and mumbled some words His breath punched my face, he held out his hand Against my own rules I gave him some coins His hand ventured deep under his coat Just where to exactly I don’t want to know These beans are Magic, he cleared his throat Light, water and warmth and they will grow They sat, and they soaked, they swelled and they sat Hope started to flow, two sprouts saw the light The green that I saw brings dead back to life The power of gravity, to rise they must fight They lived and created, despite poor location They gave what they had; life and inspiration Whenever you’re tired whenever your low Light, warmth and some water and magic beans grow!
