For me..fishin' was and is a way of life
It's always been, a family thing shared..
But, much more than fun, I've learned, the longer I live
Without realizing, lessons were learned
The virtue of patience, and its reward
Appreciating the beauty of nature
And the fresh air outdoors
How skipping stones in calm water
Leaves no time to be bored
There's healing power in laughter
And sunshine feels good
How to work together
Like everyone should
Gathering firewood, for our camp at night
To roast our hotdogs..
It didn't matter if the fish didn't bite...
When I was little and caught that alligator gar
And threw him back in, pole and all!
I learned, making memories meant more than what little we had
When dad laughed instead of getting mad
Each prayer before supper, to thank God above
For a safe day together, and for His love
The old wooden "gone fishin'" sign, on the back door
Isn't just decoration...
But a way of life....I've learned...
