How Much Can I Take

How much can I take
After all you have done
It's too much today
I hope you had fun

Just for a moment
Think about me
The pain, the worry
Are too much for me

I'm tired of waiting
Of hoping you'll see
I thought you would change
And think about me

Thinking of me
Means that you cared
All that we've done
All that we've shared

But I learned today
I mean nothing to you
If you cared about me
You'd stop what you do

But you cannot stop
And I cannot take
All of your lies
After I wake

I cannot deny
I helped you some way
By denying your faults
I made it okay

To let you go on
And do what you do
After nineteen years
Perhaps I am through

The most horrible thing
The thoughts I now own
By letting you go
I really am done

I don't want to be done
Is the worst part
When I let you go
There goes my heart
