I've always found writing about myself a chore so I'll make this short and sweet. I'm a middle-aged woman, who for most of my life, spent my efforts building my career; first in mortgage banking and then running my property management business. I'm a hopeless romantic with a soft spot for the underdog. About 3 years ago, with the encouragement of a friend, I began to explore my creative side (which I hadn't known existed!!!). I now have a love affair with creative writing, painting, music and poetry will never end. Poetry has been that saving grace during difficult times & also one of my greatest joys. I'm still learning about the "formal" process of writing poetry - I have so much to learn- I'm sure I'll be a student for life!!!
A few bio facts: Midwest roots - born (10/4/1958) & raised in St. Louis, MO . Moved to West Palm Beach, FL in 1984 and love So Florida - Its a true paradise.
Daughter of a carpenter and a housewife, I'm the youngest girl of 6 children. Catholic faith. Divorced, no children (by choice) except 2 well-fed cats.
I have a women's apparel manufacturing, design & consultancy business, Seeing Stars LLC, that is in it's infancy & to pay the bills, I work as the CFO for the property management company that I sold a few years back to my younger brother. I'm an entrepreneur at heart; love the process of creating something new. I believe in social enterprises - for profit entities that either maintain sister non-profits or donate/support a non-profit cause. I believe its possible to make a living while making the world a little nicer place in which to live.
I donate / volunteer in my community to charities that support gratitude, ending domestic violence, racial discrimination and the National MS Society.
