This Woman's Worth
Walking through fields of violets and lilies
I feel beautiful as the wind stirs the flowers around me
Proud to be a woman strong in my beliefs and faith
Teaching my daughters to be objective, but not easily swayed
A woman demanding respect from those I meet
Yet secure in the fact that my husband takes the lead
Sitting by the lake I meditate as I watch the ripples
Smiling at the distance I’ve made in a life that was never simple
I see my daughter’s faces in the sky, my husband’s in the sun
And I thank God for showing my worth when, for a time, I saw none
