slinking stealthily slyly
then SNAPPING!
her hallway acrobatics
positively electrostatic
every carpet carnival
a sell out event
my fickle feline fiend
abandons her usual spot
upon the hairlined section
of my quilt
preferring the attentions
and honorable mentions
from visiting family and friends
feeding my abandonment anxiety
with her peculiar cat smugness
purchased testaments of affection
hardly worthy of her attention
neglected on the bedroom floor
the wind up mouse that squeaks
is where her boredom peaks
avoiding the mechanical
preferring things botanical
she purrs upon her gallery seat
the study windowsill
where she arrives like a brindle fluid
as if poured upwards
from the floorboards
her real name is Pip
(as in: cat you are giving me the pip)
as roommates go
not bad
but awfully behind in rent...
