Pain That Speaks

Pain That Speaks
I arise in the morning
and my head pounds
to the beat of this living ground.
Is my body scorning
the fact that my heart surrounds
me with pain that confounds?
Sometimes my bones ache,
and I wonder why
it makes my world want to die.
Does this pain make me shake
because I truly deny
the tears my eyes want to cry?
The day seems to extol
the wrath that will drain,
and drown me with rain.
What if I listen to my soul,
try to search into the pain
and take off my chains?

Will I wake up to the sun?
Might I find myself free?
Can this truly be?

I must try and hope this hell is undone.

Note: This is a poem I wrote a while ago. I decided I want to add a few of my
older poems on here.
