Lovers Interlude

The sound of a piccolo playing Fires up the senses on a fine Roman day Vanilla steamed lattes frothing the air Toasted nut flavors of cinnamon biscotti Two emerald eyes cat walk through his heart Lost in a headiness of a tete a tete affair; Lips of garnet hues sweet as Ruffino wine Lip syncing to memory love’s swaddled time Underneath an Italian sky, smiles of Zucchero in Bocca And their voices meld like marshmallow flambé The morning hour wiles away, swift as wind and air As he slips in a ring, and her heart rings a chime She is drawn to him like a moth to a flame First comes drizzle, then rain, Unattended, they are lost, in their wedding refrain, *Zucchero In Bocca= In italian it means Sugared Mouth For contest: Cafe Musings for Nette February 2, 2014 Written by: Mystic Rose
