THINK A MINUTE

THINK A MINUTE

In this intense cold
I’m thinking of spring
WISHING for spring
Then summer
Lettuce comes to mind
        How come?
How come lettuce?
        Yes
I dunno
        Dunno?
Cause maybe I be crazy
Talking to myself
In this intense cold
Talking to myself
Talking about lettuce
What’s lettuce got to do with poetry?
So? What’s this intense cold got to do with it?
I like lettuce better than this intense cold
Tomato
          My God!
What’s a tomato got to do with poetry?
Lettuce and tomato go together
          This is ridiculous!
Not completely

Onion
I know – the three go together
Yes!
Cucumber
          I won’t say it…
Think a minute…
You know that fine site, Poetry Soup
          Yes
You know all the fine poetry they present?
          Yes
Then pass the ranch
I’m making poetry salad

………………………………..
“A poem can be about anything”
Whoever said that had lost the muse

Then pass the ranch
I’m making poetry salad

Poetry salad - I like that. You've brought out a subject to life - many would not know where to begin. Very well written Daver! ps, hope you're doing well - it's been long.

LOL, YES it can, I wrote a poem of being depressed being housebound, another poet said this is too comfortable this is cliché? I said the verse was about what depression close to suicide feels like NOT the houses interior LOL and yes I'd say it's a 'common' feeling in January!! LOL and by the way this verse was accepted for publication in 3 magazine [blush] cliché?? what can we write of that hasn't been said? ;) [SALAD!]Light & Love

Sounds yummy to me, Daver. "think a minute", I'd rather be thinking of the lettus than this creeping cabbage that keeps changing its mind. I posted part II, then removed it.:( Now I feel to eat a salad. Keep well.......Love, Mikki

hahaha, I think you are at the laced mary jane again. I knew Mary jane was weed but I did not realize people laced it with LSD. YIKES> I bet the Beatles did that, huh. This was a very FUN poem, my friend. I enjoyed it. I thought you were gonna end it by making a BLT.

This is so clever Dave, had me smiling and laughing all the way through. Now I can get off here before my eyes cross, and get some sleep! But, hummmm, I may go fix myself a salad first.

Hey Daver.. Is that the ranch I've passed when on the way to the poetry out-post?? L O L, good to know you have got your prioritys right; anyway.. I guess you were thinking on lettuce 'cause of the crisp crunch, as you was walking in the stuff...? the tomatoes from seeing peoples red cheeks; I could go on... 'better to quit when ahead' Joe..)
