Colorblind

Little white lies.
I told them in the dark,
so you’d miss out on their color,
until we made a spark.
Getting caught red handed,
Always held my mind.
So keeping truths beneath the rug,
I closed all the blinds.
I was feeling awfully blue one year,
Almost too much to live on,
But I could not let that slip,
So I reached up and grabbed the sun.
Envy once almost overcame me,
And I was grassy green,
But by this time you had your beliefs,
So I slipped it by unseen.
But not once did you ask me,
For just the truth, no lies.
So I kept you in the dark my dear,
And made you colorblind.
