Walking In the bush lands.
I’m walking in the bush lands
At the back of where I live
I’ve got my old dog by my side
These walks, such joy they give.
I was going to walk down to the lake
That’s about an hour away
But then I saw the sky was cloudy
And looking very grey.
So I says to my dog Sherry
“Old pal, we’re turning back”
So we turned our backs and walked back home
Through that sandy old bush track.
It was then I heard the bushes move
And I saw two Kangaroos
They looked at me, and my dog sherry
And they seemed quite confused.
They crashed into the bush lands
But their curiosity
It made them stop just down the track
And stare at the dog, and me.
Old Sherry went to chase them off
But I told her sternly “No”
And so the roos they turned about
And off the pair did go
But Lord it gave me heaps of joy
To know that these grand beasts
Are still around the place I live
For a little while at least
But soon lord progress will catch up
And all these beasts will die
This is what we humans do
It makes me want to cry
