Precious! My bathroom is my stage and my mirror indicates that my audience of one adores the fact that no one is listening. Lol :-)

Sorry I'm so late responding to your comment. Sometimes, the notifications don't come through. Singing is always a wonderful thing, even if you feel, as I do, that it should be done largely for one's own enjoyment.

I hope there ll be a place for everyone to sing in this world..in his own tune.Everyone makes a difference and every note is needed.A powerful message:.)

Charmain, so glad to see you here, and thanks for honoring this little poem that came to me one day while eating lunch. Once poetry is on your mind, it kind of takes over. I even responded to a store clerk lately in rhyme. She gave me a rather puzzled look. No sense of meter, I suppose.

I can't carry a tune in a washtub with help! But that doesn't stop me from trying. We all must sing, write, recite; release the words from our souls. It is wonderful when people listen and understand, but we must do it, even if only for ourselves.

Thanks so much, Monterey. People tell me I should sing mostly for my own enjoyment, which is what I largely do. The same may be true of my poetry, but what the heck.

I cant sing a note which has always been a disappointment to me. I guess in the end we have to write/sing for ourselves. Ive had a couple of poems that I thought were better than my average, and they garnered no comments. lol. Rejection is my friend. I love your work. BG

Barbara, I've looked at this read:comment ratio to get an idea of how well my work is accepted and how that compares with the top poets (considering many different factors). It seems that most people aren't comfortable with leaving comment; it's just a small, dedicated group that does so. Those that get the most comment on their poetry work exceptionally hard. It's really a full-time job. I hit it pretty hard now and then, but I'm not as dedicated as some. Don't be discouraged. You write well and we/I enjoy it.

I really, really felt your message. I am about to fly away (not from poetry) but from the chaotic deafness of ears. Your message is so well articulated!

Ears that will not hear. We often allow life to become so complicated that we fail to appreciate the beautiful things that are available to us at no cost. Better to stop and listen. Thanks for your lovely comment.

Singing is my forte. I can harmonize with anyone. And thou no one knows me for my poetry but everyone knows me for my voice and wants me to sing with them. This one caught my eye

Wish so much that I could hear you sing, John. I am told that I should both sing and write primarily for my own enjoyment. It's nice when someone disagrees. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Nice write Mark. Singing has it's own rewards, just in the singing itself. Enjoyed this one Peter

Yeah, Peter, the birds will go on singing, even though we ignore or take them for granted most of the time. As poets, however, we should be as willing to listen as to speak. Happy New Year!
