This is very deep..Seperating from someone who ve been part of our lives for many years..So it seems..The emotions of fear of how s life gonna be..The tears of missing someone's presenc.e,Trying to force a smile momentarily..hiding it all..This is a hesrtwrenching poem David..But the sun will shine and rainbows will splash their colours once again..Give it time.I have a poem about The clown too..not as powerful as this though.

Such a sad and poignant write, but I can relate on certain levels here, David. It was so nice hearing from you! How have you been? How about your family? I hope and pray all is well... Is it true you are leaving? I'm just going to sigh right now... I myself don't know whether to stay or go, leaning towards the latter though, been leaning towards that for quite some time, just need a push. I have enjoyed your clever poetry, David, whether you stay or go, I will always cherish the friendship and do keep writing poems pls. Keep in touch pls.

David- this reminds me of lost circuses. I am sure there are circuses still around but somehow seeing mini-circuses at shopping malls doesn't quite make it with me. I am as sad as that clown looking at an empty ring. Exactly where did my childhood go? I am trying mightily to reclaim it now. barbara

Hi David-- visisting your page after a long break from P/Soup myself. Loved the imagery and bitter/sweet character of a clown-- portrayed here so well. Looking forward to more of your great writes xx

this makes me ponder many thoughts, as good poetry usually does...clowns are usually associated with happy events, yet i often think they look sad...nice write, it paints a poignant picture! hugs

so good to see you post a new poem, David. This puts me in mind of "tears of a clown" which was an awesome song you must know. Please keep coming around with your poetry.
