Getting lost in music

Getting lost in music

Sometimes I just get lost in life
Just live without no thoughts
Forget about the regulations
And all the ifs, and aughts
And I get lost in music
Just making little songs
Sometimes I think that music
Is the space where I belong.

When I’m with my music
I have no cares at all
The whole of life is beautiful
And everything seems cool
No worries sneak into my mind
I do not give a damn
I forget those shadows from the past
I forget about Vietnam.

I stand there at my keyboard
And put those notes on down
As I try to make a symphony
A lovely wall of sound
And when I sing, I sing to God
And I celebrate my love
Oh yes that’s when I reach on out
To that power up above.

Nothing seems to matter then
With the music all there is
There are no pangs of heartache
I feel such holy bliss
Doing what I do the best
Slowly moving in
As angels up in heaven say
“Let the symphony begin”.

I really liked this poem. Music is the number one thing I am so passionate about. I can totally relate to this. Nice work Peter!

Thank you TB, music kept me sane for a long time when I had PTSD, I used to write one or two songs a day, but now I realize that my talents lie in writing the words, so I stick to this. I really appreciate your comments, my friend...peter

Hi Peter, another good write from you my friend. Before I progress, I hope you and Vera are ding well and I wish you all the best for 2014. I Love this one, I get myself lost in the music all the time. My music is singing, I was once pretty good too. As long as I am singing or listening to music all is right with the world. Music does have the way of pulling you in and just making you feel totally at ease with life. This piece does the same for me. Your Friend always....MIKE. ,

Thanks Michael for your wonderful comments. love to sing too. The music and the beautiful world of nature makes it so that I am always so very happy. I can never understand unhappy people. The sun is always shining somewhere, and the birds are singing. Have a wonderful new year, my friend...peter

I enjoyed reading this poem about the healing powers of music. I do the same thing with my guitar when I'm feeling the omnipresent sadness. Thank for your comments. I don't know how to get over all the facts of my crazy life. Its an uphill battle though. :) peace
