So beautiful, his eyes of evergreen,
they shine like emeralds in dancing light.
He has the warmest heart you've ever seen;
his smiling face lights up the darkest night.
For one more day, I'd battle with the light;
but, even mother’s love can’t turn back time,
and since that day, it's been an uphill climb.
My heart was ripped out whole that winter day,
the morn I put him on that jet airplane;
then, up in silver clouds he flew away.
There went my only reason to stay sane.
Dear God, give me alchemical strong vein –
solutions blessed, to bring him home again.
A miracle, with blessings set therein.
Note ~ Shortly after writing this poem, in January of 2012, my son, Edwin, and I were reunited after over 27 years apart. How I love that young man! :))
