The Sad Past

Little did I know
Our mistletoe kiss that night
By the Christmas tree
Would be the last kiss we shared
And then you left forever

*My first attempt at an assonant poem.
Those familiar with assonance please comment and let me know how I did.*

Just now realizing this was one entered by you in my contest, Isaiah. Sorry susan and I did not place it. The sentiment of it was sad indeed. I would say you used assonance the most in lines one and two: the short i of little/did/mistle/kiss. Last line has short e used three times: then/left/forever. Every time we use a similar vowel sound, we have assonance but in conjunction with similar consonant sounds it becomes even more effective! (you do it a bit with the T sound throughout)

I think this can fit as an entry to Not so happy holidays by Andrea

I think the words should start with assonance like a,e,o,u,i more than one in each sentence.Isaiah
