Christmas certainly was filled with magic
when I was four years old, couldn't sleep
I didn't yet know that some lives were pretty tragic
three of us at the tree am had to have a peep.
I couldn't take it any more since my brothers
and I tore up all the feather pillows in a mess
acting crazy throwing them all over was no bother.
That was the last time I believed in Christmas
having two older brothers told me Xmas was a shame
So I Just adapted like everyone else putting up trees,
wrapping gifts for all. Then the wonderful dinners came
The food disappeared so fast like a herd of bubble bees
Now at 60 I find that their are much more sensible
ways to spend Christmas. Doing things for others
My church has many programs that our credible
feeding the homeless, making presents for special brothers
programs for the kids, work for pastoral care,
justice meetings for those who want to get involved
in restoring justice wherever possible. This is our affair
adult magic for the holidays, Feeling more evolved.
