Sorry, I put this one on my wife's page by mistake.
Magic of the wetlands
Three magpies etched against the sky
Give out their warbling cries
As little clouds all soft and fluffy
Do float upon the sky
A tall tree filled with bright green Parrots
Does dance upon the breeze
As the lake so peaceful by my side
Reflects those dark green trees.
A little frog crosses my path
He's startled by me, there
As wetland trees, all gnarled and bent
Make tunnels everywhere
They line the trail, where lupins grow
And young ferns soft and green
Help to give out morning magic
All peaceful and serene.
I see the seasons come and go
Each day I walk this trail
The lake fills up, and then runs dry
As nature tells its tale
That's the beauty of lake Joondalup
How it fills my heart with bliss
Each day I walk these wetland trails
I gain such joy from this.
