The butterfly lays gently on a deep green leaf among the trees.
Life is peaceful as it flutters through the air feeling free.
Her wings are painted with brilliant yellow and orange hues.
Spots like that of a Cheetah span across her wings so smooth.
She lands gently on my finger as I gaze.
Her features are more brilliant up close as I pause amazed.
I watch as she lifts off, knowing her life is short she must explore.
She flies high in the air with no worry or fear, something I truly adore.
The inspiration is captivating and flows like a river through me.
I launch the hang glider to join her, the view fills my mind with glee.
We dive and twist and soar through the air.
For but a moment the world is our oyster, standing still without a care.
She wants to race as she swoops low to the stream.
We glide inches above the water as I capture the essence of the dream.
She then lands upon a rock as I continue to fly.
For life is about the next adventure that we all must search for and sigh.
