All Our Sons

First it was you then:
Your mom's good friend
one week later
Then our good friends
one month later
Then your good aunt
one year later…

Yes, first it was you now:
Your good friend
who struggled and fought
and fights no more...
who struggled and fought
the demon of grief
then took his own life...

All our sons
All are gone

Cannot judge
Cannot question
Cannot ask why
Why again…

Dedicated to a fine young man named Marshall, my late son Daniel's friend from childhood. Gone at the age of 32

Tim - I am chilled and think of my Jeannie's friends. If they died my heart would break again as a piece of her would be lost again. love, Kathy

Oh Tim........had I not found this poem, I could not forgive myself for telling you that I understand this kind of grief. When it touches so close to home.......it cannot be someone's else's pain to endure. I'm so so sorry.

Tim, I don't pretend to know all the answers....... I don't even know all the questions. I do know that a firm faith in God Almighty has seen me through many trials and much tribulation. This is a beautiful tribute. Your pain is well documented and my heart aches with you. Jake

Heartbreaking, Tim, and such a moving tribute to your son's friend. It's seems senseless for God to take a man so young. I pray he and your son are reunited in Heaven and you are comforted by His love. Hugs to you, Rhonda

Tim, sometimes I stay away from emotional poems. I once wrote a poem , called..."UNTIL there was NONE." one by one --all gone... such a sad feeling, to know someone always follows right behind. A heartfelt poem from your heart to Daniel's (rip) childhood friend... God Bless you Tim, your son is proud... xox~ LINDA

It is tough to lose so many loved ones, whether through illness or ill times death, we clutch our fists tight watch them bleed, we think no one knows, but be assured my dearest Tim, he hears your laments, and when your day will come, he will cradle you like a new born babe in his loving arms, until then, sending you the warmest hug I could find, in the corner of my heart, xxx p.s. glad I make you laugh,
