Whose Child

Karl was pasted to the park bench
constable Dodds raised his body with a heavy
kick followed by a smart crack from the night stick

Karl’s swollen ear tried to pull
his face from the bench
once more with the night
stick and he was up

Karl limped to a nearby tree and dispensed
himself before striking an angry fly
loaded at the bigbucks across the street
three men with very tiny heads burst into laughter

Ralph, it's hard to know what will move me, until it does, and I find myself in the middle of this feeling. This piece moved me deeply and quickly, touched my heart, and reminded me of things I too have witnessed. Since I believe this is exactly a poems purpose, to stir, I say well done! xpeace & hugs Ruby
