Prisoner

I thought it would be quite possible,
I assumed I would be much stronger,
Never guessed it would be so hurtful,
Couldn’t deal with the grief any longer.

I had to stand the unwanted freedom,
And got back to the calm existence,
Appreciating the hard-won wisdom
Discovering the new sense of silence.

I buried my hope deeply in my soul,
And roused myself from the dismal torpor,
Everything seemed to be under control,
I said goodbye to the hopeless dreamer.

But everything could happen after all,
This world was more tangible and truer.
Today, after years, you made one call,
Once again I was taken prisoner…
