This resonates with me in fact my forward in my book talks about the power of words to both hurt and heal. Never allow your heart to be hardened you are beautiful as you are. Also see my comment I posted on Eileen's poem when you have a chance. Hugs Rick.

Becca, way to be inspired and in such an utterly positive way!!! Great epiphany to have: how words are for evil and also for great good. I LOVE words. Thank heavens we are the poets of the world who can manipulate them for the good.

BECCA!!!!! BECCA!!!! BECCA!!! I admire you for putting your heart out there! GOOD FOR YOU!!!! We need MORE, MORE of this. I always encourage this in our Bible study groups. If we don't allow ourselves to be vulnerable, we will never get the help we need. It's just with vulnerability comes pain...and sometimes...SOMETIMES, I just want to crawl away, cocoon myself and be safe. You were SUCH A GREAT ENCOURAGEMENT to me yesterday Becca! You lifted my spirit...I do thank you, sweetie!!! Lots of Hugs!

I'm an ULTRA slow learner!!! HA HA! We need a remedial class on how to overcome naivety! When it is all said and done, we are fighters, Becca. We just need a helping hand now and then. Thanks...thanks for including my poem in your reflections. :) Love ya!!

I really believe that if you are a poet you have a bigger sensitive side to yourself, and most likely you have some insecurities too (even the most confident ones)! Your poem nicely expressed gratitude for Eileen and Jack's poetry! What a lovely poem this one is! Great Work!!

Dear Becca, I believe that poets are more sensitive than others and that is what helps them to become poets. Revealing this makes you stronger and it is a cathartic blessing. I was enthralled with your honesty. Beautifully said!

Congrats on your bravery in bearing your soul to all in Poetrysoup. It is wonderful how poems can move you, stir the heart and even raise the blood levels. Like the saying goes the pen is mightier then the sword. You have touched many of us with your words in this poem, well done.

I confess to being moved to tears by some things I read on here, big softy, then enraged by other odd ones, It's an up and down world Becca, Both extremes have to be taken for what there worth and dealt with accordingly. Your last two lines reveal great enlightenment. Take care, Richard

I've written many things that stay on the page because I fear the next step sometimes... you just made me realize that it's okay ..thank you for your very heartfelt poem :)

Wow, Becca! You really poured your heart out. I think we all are a little insecure (in my case extremely) What's important is learning to accept everyone for who they are, realizing none of us are perfect. This is easier said than done, of course! This is a very touching open hearted write. Love, Kim
