WHAT NOISE THIS

WHAT NOISE THIS

hard to tell just when
one is suddenly aware –
electricity? –
no! i lay in bed listening
with my window wide open

early September
it’s been quiet all summer
not too hot, too chill
a cool breeze once in a while
with cricket’s ceaseless chirping

Daver, I like this poem because it's calming, yet for me, full of meaning.

Their tune can be annoying or quieting just according how one takes the sound..What place in the orchestra who they occupy?..Maybe the violin section?..Sara

so what was it? Those crickets? I listen sometimes and can hear only those dang crickets. I like this one and the feel of a cool September, though i think you and I both prefer them very WARM. BTW, thanks for reading so many of my poems today. How are you feeling now? Any better?
