Living in Valdez, Alaska--a small town surrounded on all sides by mountains-- the foghorn starts the day this time of year--continuing through the winter months. This is the Northern most port in North America--so we have fog all during the winter months. (Valdez is also in a rainforest)This unique mixture of the arctic and rainforest create magnificent variations of weather and scenery.Originally written from the contest challenge of horn blower's photo, but I related it to our small town's foghorns....

nine lines JOY OF LIFE
he is alive
dawn-thrill jolts memories
softly nuzzles his heart’s desire
passion billows surprised curtains outward
sweet love whimpers joy-greet the dawn
wasted sorrow vanished
his eyes drink sky
