Why would I want to vote?
I watched the news this morning
And oh, those politicians
So much corruption going on
I’ve come to a decision
That voting, it is not for me
Who the hell can I trust?
I don’t care much any more
But vote, they say, I must.
Out here, they make us vote in pencil
That don’t seem right to me
Cause pencil it can be erased
So then how can it be
That we should trust these guys so much
Do they think us folk are fools?
Because we all are far too mellow
And don’t complain at all.
To my idea, there’s just one party
Though they tell us there are two
Yet both, they play the same old game
It’s really nothing new
They work to keep the rich folk richer
While the poor have naught at all
Why would I want to vote for them?
They’re just a pack of fools.
