About This Poem

In Reality

Your pupils eclipse the blue As you look inside of me I ask about your thoughts You stroke me tenderly And smilingly reply “I’m collecting a memory” “One I will add to my reality” My hand gently sweeps The heat from your cheeks As deeper and deeper you go Burying far inside my soul Suddenly You are frightened by reality The depth too deep A world unknown Taking you too far out Of your comfort zone I ask about your thoughts And sadly you reply “We are so different” “You and I” And with this you said “Goodbye”

Ahhhh, so sad!!! Kind of reminds me of that song about the guy who sees a girl on a train for a fleeting moment and wishes she could be his. I REALLY like this kind of poem!

Ohhhh, how this piece sung to my soul! It's simply beautiful. It's as clever as it is sad, and you yanked my heart strings clean out of my chest. Going into my fave poems; positively marvelous! :)
