Affenbrotbaum

Der Affenbrotbaum

ist kaal und drocken

Ich habe Loecher

in den Socken

aber tausend Jahre lang

gehe Ich baarfuss

dahin

und Ich bin

alein

bin ein Affe

in dem Baum

It has been nearly 20 years since I took a German language course in Highschool, and almost surprisingly, I understand your entire poem here. The barefoot analogy is neat and adds a lot to the premise of alienation and existentialism. I've written a poem sort of joking around about sometimes feeling like an "Affe", swinging through the neighbourhood trees and howling at the moon while I see the blue-light flicker from the television screens in the neighbour's houses.
