The hidden crime.
Sometimes, it really puzzles me
With my all these human fellows
Most of them are lovely folk
With ways all kind of mellow
They wouldn’t steal from anyone
Or do a violent act
Yet when it comes to using words
They’re cruel, and that’s a fact.
You see them everywhere you look
Those people gossiping
With all their judgment and hearsay
Such misery they bring
They only steal folks, reputations
They only murder hearts
Oh all this vocal nonsense
It can tear one’s life apart.
And yet we take it, all of it
And treat it as a joke
No one seems to think at all
Cause that’s the way of folk
So murders, suicides and such
They happen all the time
And all because the evil mouth
It be the silent crime.
