Whipped

Watching the trees
get whipped by wind and rain,
      I thought of the birds

of falling nests
and
broken wings,

why are there none
at my window today?

Yesterday they were here,
when the liquid curtains fell

Let them seek shelter here.

I hear them distantly,
and pray they are well,
braving gust and water,
far, far stronger
than me.

I'm back this Sunday morning, just for a moment to remind you that all of us......even you, my sweet Nikko, are stronger sometimes that we even know, ...and when we are put to the test, we can weather the storm. I'm praying for you and your mother.....for all of you to hang on through this coming rain.....till the sun shines, which of course, it will. God bless !

Reading this one again Nikko, outstanding and sad imagery.. I never like the mess the wind and rain makes when it's whipping the trees. poor birdies.. I imagine you wrote this after a gush of rain took place.. anyways.. I'm here to ask you for a favor.. LOL..okay I'm kidding.. I got all the afternoon off. And I posted a poem. I hope you have time to read it when you drop by the soup... :-) Linda
