About This Poem

Dandelion Dream

-Dandelion Dream-

I stand close with a fistful of flowers
My tiny bouquet made of dandelion dreams
They fade with one gush from the wind
I stand close with a fistful of flowers
Holding on tight to jagged leaves
Sprinkles of sand fall over my needs
I stand close with a fistful of flowers
My tiny bouquet made of dandelion dreams

Beautiful. You know it's good poetry when you feel better inside, almost as if you had written it yourself. I felt that gush of wind.. Do write on dear poet. ~Teresa

Humble subject, great theme! A transformation is possible only with a skillful poet. SKAT you are that. My grandson makes dandelion bouquet during the summer for his "MOM", my daughter. Thanks SKAT for dreaming dandelion!

I love the way you described those dreams as dandelions blown with the wind..Very beautifully described..Dreams go and others come..just like Spring flowers..Lovely.

Lovely comparison of the fragility of dreams to that of a dandelion in the wind.

Oh skat what a lovely moment you have made here (hold on I'm going back to read it again) Yes it is lovely. I wondered how the sand got in there but I liked it a lot. I have lots of dandelions, I collect them, I keep them in my lawn.

Hi Skat. Just stopping by to say Happy Thanksgiving or at least happy Thursday, depending on what you do for the occasion. I had never heard of a triolet before (you all have a lot to teach me), but to me it's almost Oriental in its flavor, very succinct. It's a sad time (sprinkles of sand fall over my needs... my tiny bouquet made of dandelion dreams), but what a great way to express a mood. Well done!

Very nice poem makes one reflect on bygone days in the fields close to home. Dandelions were always a fleeting thrill to set adrift on the wind. :) Foxie
