Why I Don't Unfriend Tessie

Why I Don’t Unfriend Tessie

By Elton Camp

Tessie will post a dozen times a day
Things foolish and ignorant they say

Her God, she asserts, is testing her
By the things that continually occur

No matter how bad things may seem,
“It’s part of his plan,” is her silly dream

Really, she brings woe upon herself,
But to that, she’s both blind and deaf

People she loves, she does say,
But only if they’re born in the USA

Of facts of history she has no clue
And current events does misconstrue

Invalid reasons she is always giving
As to why the world owes her a living

Her life is a living contradiction
Showing her ideas are only fiction

However, her rants I sort of like to see
Somebody who’s worse off than me

Her ideas are only fiction! Discreetly you're bringing her down to earth, Mr Goodheart!

Gerald, folks like her are unlikely to change. At least that's been my experience. Logical arguments are unacceptable to such people. Thanks for reading. Elton

I like the incorporation of social media into this poem, very modern, I love the class it has to it. good job Elton -Patrick Farley IV

Thanks for reading and for your comment, Patrick. I try to do most of my writes about current subjects or ordinary matters of life. Somebody else can add to the ocean of woe so often found on these poetry sites. I prefer light humor. Elton
