The Curse Of Sarah Flynn

The year was sixteen ninety-two,
Salem bore its wicked sin;
It was there atop a rugged hill,
They hanged old Sarah Flynn

The Elders deemed her guilty,
Of witchcraft they accused;
Prepared to draw her final breath,
While others looked on amused

Eye to eye with her accusers,
She shouted emphatically;
"Benjamin, Walter, and Jacob!"
"Death shall come to thee in three's!"

From the end of a rope she strangled,
The Elders glared on with a grin;
Benjamin, Walter, and Jacob,
Three brothers of evil within

Innocent souls were tortured,
Of witchcraft many confessed;
The Elders held their philosophy,
"In heaven we're eternally blessed"

Three years had since departed,
From the death of Sarah Flynn;
The Elder brothers had perished,
Sarah's justice for three evil men

Benjamin fell from a rooftop,
Walter drowned in a shallow creek;
Jacob was crushed by a furious steed,
Three deaths within three weeks

Sarah Flynn was never a witch,
Nor others who died so tragically;
In the darkest hours of Salem,
Vengeance reigned in weeks of three

    Very moving account of a sad part of our history Milton...It seems to me that old Sarah Flynn was certainly no witch, but rather a prophet and a martyr - Tim
