Memories Will Be The Death Of Me

Oh baby, can't you see?
Memories will be the death of me.
Your face is playing in my mind like a broken record.
This loneliness my sanity just can't afford.
Well the little sanity I have left,
Of that there's been a crime of theft.
I've been robbed of what matters,
I've fallen off all the ladders.
Dear, can't you see?
Memories will be the death of me.

Hun, can't you see?
Memories are killing me.
Replaying them with too much ease,
I need a kind of release.
Little fun I've been having,
All this happiness I am lacking.
I'd rather be in the past.
How long will this nostalgia last?
Darling can' t you see?
Memories are killing me.

Love, can't you tell?
Memories are putting me through Hell.
I lay in bed replaying conversations,
I fear any and all confrontations.
I have a longing for the bliss,
That was once hard to miss.
What is happening, why?
I wish my smile wasn't a lie.
Babe, can't you tell?
Memories are putting me through Hell.

Friend, I know what it's like.
To be scared of your own mind.
What won't leave my head,
makes me wish I was dead.
Every time I close my eyes,
It's a sweet time.
Because I replay memories,
I could stay there with ease.
Friend, I know what it's like
to be scared of your own mind.

Sweetheart, I'd rather be dreaming.
And that actually scares me.
It's like I'd rather be sleeping,
Have my memories for safe keeping,
But they're not necessarily good,
So really I don't think I should
feel this way at all,
Or answer to my mind's call.
Sweetheart, I'd rather be in a dream,
and that honestly really scares me.

Baby, can't you see?
Memories will be the death of me.
Each time I close my eyes,
It's like a sick twisted paradise,
Not of death or eternal slumber,
Just stress of a lesser number.
At this point I don't understand,
Memories have a high demand.
Love, can't you see?
Memories will be the death of me.

This is really good, and I can totally relate and understand.

Thanks. Well, I would like to say I'm glad you relate but in all honesty, I'm not glad. I hate this feeling of confusion and missing someone, so I would never be glad someone else relates to it. But I AM glad, however, that you enjoyed the poem!
