Naked Truths

Regret drips slowly down the terraced walls
It never falls
In the shadows form a thick green moss
That slowly smothers all

Forevers that were always sworn
Are almost gone
And all that's left are yesterdays
For which we long

The blanket meant to shelter pain
Will never see
The naked tearful truth that hides
In you and me

But still we try - and still we cry
Little do we know how close it is,
How far it is, how close it is...

Never finished Lyrics

Hauntingly beautiful....Naked truths are sometimes so painful that we cover them up for self preservation. That's it, Craig....into my favorite poet file with ya!

I see you are no stranger to lyric writing. Our themes tell me we write with the same ink... This is excellent writing.... Jake

Polish these lines and you could end-up with some very smooth lyrics. That is the naked truth. Another naked truth: I realize that you probably aren't a hockey fan, but I am glad the Bruins didn't win the Cup this year. Hey, they won it only 2 years ago. That's enough lol. The Bruins played some good hockey, especially when they swept Pittsburgh in the 3rd round of the SCP, so kudos to them. When I was young, I had a soft spot for the Hartford Whalers though, but the team disbanded from the NHL.

I llove your unfimished lyrics Craig..They seem quite finished to me..They re heard so loudly from the inner cry of your soul..I guess we all yearn for yesterday ..We all have happy memories but even regrets..I love the way you described the blanket to shelter pain.I can relate that..a blanket for comfort.Somehow sad..but for me sad poems are the most beautiful-a favourite.
