The Orchard

Ripe fruit bows
earthward,
as grape clusters
would. One perfect

apple, beckons from
the branches, laden
like garlands
for the mantel

My lover climbs
toward it, finding lower
branches, to hold him

with admiration I watch
as he bites into tart sweetness
his breath billowing in
the autumn air,
how simply he
moves through this
life, from
moment
to moment

You created an enjoyable setting here, with that touch of innocence. This was very, very well done.

Nicely done. I like the imagery
