MOTHERS DAY

written 11th may 2001

what is mothers day
it has become no meaning to me
to have none of my children on this day
what more do i need to say
how heartless and cruel
do they really know what they do
to hurt me so bad
it makes me even more mad
to use my children
just to get there revenge
is there any other way
i hope and i pray
but its done nothing to this day
when will i have my say
with my words of trueth
i will have my babies back, watch my proof

Hi there, I'm fairly new to this site and I've been reading poems of others. This one I can relate to. In my world, my observations, I see that ignorance wins and so does hurtful behavior. I wish I knew why. If they say it strengthens character, I would have object. Wishing you peace, sending you kindness. Z

Denise, this is a very sad one and I sure hope you will get to have your kids with you one day. My son married a woman with two kids that she could not take out of the state with her because of their dad. But he was a jerk and she fought for main custodial rights and finally won. It was so nice for their little family. I wish you the best!

Hi Denise, this seems a bit like a protest poem and you say it with conviction, I see you are Australian, well Australia is my home also, I came from Liverpool-England and have lived here since 1959, I intent to help you find your niche in poetry as I will try to mentor you here, please read my poems for enlightenment.
