I Expect You To Return

I just keep expecting you,
To sprise me from behind.
To wake me up and say,
"Babe, it's all in your mind."
I'm expecting a lovely hug
around every corner.
Expecting your love.
Every other day.

What if you forget me?
and all that we had?
There is no way.
You miss me this bad.

I'm sitting replaying memories of us in my head,
I'm holding your teddy bear in my bed,
Pathetic as it may be, I hold it tightly,
Pathetic as it may be, I pray to talk to you, nightly.

I hope you're doing well,
The dreams I'm dreaming,
I don't even want to tell.
My mind is putting my heart through Hell.

I just want to say hey,
Be close once again,
I just want to talk.
To talk to my best friend.

I expect you to return,
I expect you to come back,
Because us being apart,
Makes my stomach churn.
