No Hocus Pocus

It feels like I’m a drowning in a pit of slime
I know that I just want to climb
Up toward the light above my head
By the sun rays I would like to be led

No tablets for me no hocus pocus
I just need my mind to focus
To stop the darkness closing in
To stop the downer to try to win

A battle that rages inside my head
For alive I want to be not dead
Swimming in treacle against the tide
The darkness from which I try to hide

Is waging war and bringing me down
I wear a smile but feel a frown
Yet I know not what the reason is
I’ve lost my verve I’m flat no fizz

It sweeps across me like a cloud
It covers me like a death shroud
I know that it will pass for sure
Yes finally I will endure

Come out the other side bathed in light
Through the gloom I know I’ll fight
To be the me that’s free and clear
When the darkness has gone I’ll give a cheer

This is an important piece, with the right amount of hopefulness. So many people are not able to realize it is there waiting for them. Read my poem Baby Unicorn when you have a chance.

Owen...I was wondering where you've been! Oh...you have described my life when depression sets in. Sometimes I don't know if tomorrow will come...Hang in there! This too shall pass.....
