Barefoot on the lawn
It’s Such a lovely day, today
Just twenty eight degrees
A lovely temp, it’s not too hot
Yet you, it will not freeze.
I’m lazing in my bush filled yard
As the sun, it shines on down
Looking at the lush, green lawn
That peeps up from the ground.
There’s something about a lush, green lawn
It’s a kind of sensual thing
So I go barefoot all the time
Such joy, to me this brings.
I can feel the moisture, fresh and cool
As it seeps into bare skin
And fills me full of gentleness
And stills the beast within
Oh Lord, the simple things in life
That’s all I really need
I cannot fathom out mankind
With all his blessed greed
When just to walk upon a lawn
And feel it’s cool moist touch
Upon bare feet, mind made alert
It does for me so much.
