AM I ?

Am I Just Standing Here, or Am I Just Dead?
Am I So Full Of Fear, I Lost Myself Instead?

Am I A Nobody, that you can't defend me?
Am I Just Invisible, and you really don't pretend.

Am I Blind, Or I Just Don't Wish To See?
The Love I Cannot Find Is Right In Front Of Me!

Am I Hearing the Truth,
Or Have I Just Been Deceived?
Who Can I Trust?
Who Can I Believe?

Am I So Mad I Just Can't Understand,
Or Am I So Sad I Need A Shoulder And A friend?

Is It Just Me,
Or Am I All Alone?

Very expressive emotional write. So sad that people can feel so alone and yet others are going through similar things also feeling very alone. Well done, especially considering 22 years ago.

Hi Linda, Even though this is an old write, once more you d not hide your feelings away. You tell the feelings you felt at the time. No one should have to feel this way, no one should ever truly be alone. One just wants to take you and hold you and show you, you are not alone, this is the power of the piece you have written. This is raw emotion Linda, this is the truth coming out and it shows your strength that you can let it out. Have a good day. Catch you later. Locking hands across the sea.

I was looking back through some of your older poems. This one is so full of true emotion. My favorite two lines are " Am I Blind, Or I Just Don't Wish To See? The Love I Cannot Find Is Right In Front Of Me! " You have such a God given talent for creating very good poetry. This is one of my favorite poems Linda...Hugs...Roger

Much to ponder in these lines, Linda. I can relate to the deep thoughts and scared feelings you described here...Sometimes loneliness can be our greatest fear...But, you had your baby right next to you, so, you should not have felt so alone! :) Amazing poem!

I love the raw emotion here, I could feel the fear and sorrow. The self doubt. It is a strong poem in the way it challenges your inner self. Asking those questions out loud that many of us have asked quietly. Beautiful work PD

Of you, oh how wonderful the poets, just being, just living a feeling life. Thank you for composing: Robert Henry Poulin

first I love the title; AM I. I felt your emotions and that makes a great poem. I felt beside you in this poem. I enjoyed feelings you gave me to be mindfully aware, who am I? When we know who we are we don't know ourselves. The mystery is in the details. When we forget ourselves we start living the natural way just being, just eating, just sleeping. This is the Tao, this is Zen, this is the way of happiness mindfully aware. Robert Henry Poulin

There's so many people that have asked this same question. Many have lost their direction, as they face so much adversity in life. Many without a job, and feel the weight of the world come crashing down. May we all find the comfort that God offers to everyone! Heart touching feelings in this poem! JP

The moment I finished this poem, I had the same feeling,as when I first heard the long haunting, sad expressive sound of the wolf howl. Which in my opinion is one of the most beautiful sounds one can hear. A very lovely moving poem. It would seem that, that time 22 years ago, were very tough for you. But all that emotion made for great poetry.
