As I Wrote This

As I wrote this, upon my bed,
fumbling with words yet to be said,
I felt the chill of a spring day
next to glass painted winter gray,
and marveled how the seasons wed.

In galoshes, shiny and red,
kids splashed in puddles as they fled
from their front doors, to laugh and play,
as I wrote this...

I grew old never having bled.
Never left my butter and bread.
Observed the world from where I lay.
Life happened while I was away,
leaving my thoughts and weaving thread,
as I wrote this...

Very much so, Richard! I wrote this quite a few years back and it's funny how well it correlates with your recent message to me...

Wow Timothy, you have surprised me with the grandiosity of this awesome write my friend! I am so very impressed by the splendor of this incredible poem here! You have inspired me completely with this lovely piece, I love "as you wrote this" that is a cool way to write a poem, were you inspired by my free verse? This has a similar feel to it, different true, but a little similar feel...the introspective part is the similar anyway! What an awesome piece my friend, Great Work!!

It touches me to know I inspired someone else (especially a poet like yourself!). I get similar vibes with your peach dress poem... introspection is a peculiar feeling.
