Pity---------------you don't write this kind of vers libre very often, my (our) loss. Would any know of the ponds of Giverny if not for Monet. Your words remind me of Dickens "I wear the chain I forged in life, I made it link by link yard by yard" burdensome, but is anything truly ours? Or is it ours to borrow, make the most of while we are here and, like you or Monet, paint a picture of it so those who follow can find another way to contemplate their own time in perspective.

Very beautiful. I love the "...it was never truly mine". Very deep. Thanks for sharing. Also thanks for placing me in your contest. Well done. AO
