Ghostly Hands

Ghostly hands reached into my very soul
In a moment my heart was turned to stone
All of my dreams were poured into a hole
I was afraid and felt I was alone

Then an Angel came and took me away
Whisked upward on wings towards heavens gates
She saved me even though I didn't pray
My heart restored as she removed the weight

I was sent back with a radiant smile
Once again living in a land of dreams
This is the place I must stay for a while
My tears now flowing down my face in steams

So thankful to be saved from ghostly hands
My heart is now my own to command

I was inspired to try out this form after reading Nette's poem Cherished

oh, I found your first sonnet. You did great for your first time. Very nicely rhymed and a lovely message with this one, Richard.

Thanks Andrea, also I appreciate you directing Me to Yanny's poem this morning. I really enjoy the unique way she uses her words.

... the invisible puppet strings guiding you to where you need to be. This was an excellent first sonnet! My first attempt was "okay"... but I had to completely rewrite it after I realized that none of the syllables matched up (lol). The only person I have found that is able to pull off that well is Douglas Fulghum. They are unorthodox sonnets... but excellent, nonetheless!

Thanks Nette, I looked back through my poems and it appears this is my second one. I completely forgot writing it. Thanks for the inspiration Nette.
