Some Say Those Were the Days

Childhood memories;
some say those were the days.
But technically everyday we live is still the day;
the day your heart grew three sizes bigger,
the day you laughed as a million presents
got buried in the snow.

Your choice.

    This is true. Never take any day for granted. I had a lot of fun when I was younger with my older brother. Now he's older and so am I and we don't nearly talk or do anything together like we once did. I at least have those memories still. Loved this, Timothy! :)

    I'm the youngest of four so I know what you mean! My sister has three kids and is married, one of my brother is married and lives on the other side of the country... I still have one sibling I can hang out with though!

    oooooo Tim, I have great memories from all eras and phases of my life, you never stop gathering them, childhood memories are particularly important I think, they shape your years to come, and they happen when the mind is really taking in the info. Take care, Richard

    I guess you don't really know how much your childhood affects you until you meet someone that had a very bad one. It DOES affect you, but it's still within your power to make the most out of the day you're currently living in. Thanks for the insightful comment!

    I like the way your mind works. I remember hearing about how Einstein believed that the past, present, and future was all happening all at the same time. I don't know quite what to say about that... but it really boggles your mind just thinking about it!

    I love this as well Timothy...the good old days before so much technology and traffic...yes I remember well and remember not having a tv...and we had an outhouse and no running water...but making the best of everyday is a MUST...and a CHOICE...there is beauty everywhere among the bad...thanks for this

    Hmmmmmmm....my dear Timothy. Yes, I agree in essence with what you are saying. It IS a matter of choice...however, do remember that we have different temperaments. Have you done those tests? I'm a melancholy/sanguine....(the intense feeling/ life of he party gal). The melancholy side...is characterized by...among other things...a living in the past mind set. I know it isn't healthy, but it's me. So...I can rise above...and take your advice! :) Great write, my friend. Powerful ending. Hugs.

    I haven't taken the tests before, but I do like to reminisce quite a lot. My main purpose was to say it's not impossible to make new memories. You have the power to make your own "golden days" :)
