Cordoba

Let us travel back in Time
To Spain in the 10th Century
The Wondrous City
Of Cordoba

Under the Caliph, the Moors are
Most Enlightened
Living in Harmony
With the
Christian and Jewish
Populations

Toleration the Motto
Of that Day
Cordoba Grew
Great Cultural, Political,
Financial and Economic
Centre

Largest City in the World

Universities, Libraries
Advancements in Medicine
Mathematics and
Astronomy

Sadly this ended with
The Conquest of
Cordoba
By
King Ferdinand in
1236

Surely if a model of
Peace and Harmony can exist in the Past
It can no doubt be revisited

History does Repeat Itself
And that Fact
Gives
Us
Hope

A beautiful history lesson. Congratulations on your win. And did you know that being the last no. 1 does not mean you were rated lower than the other no. 1's. They are listed by order of their entry into the contest. Love, Joyce

It's funny how "history repeating itself" is always looked at in the negative sense... like Hitler's concentration camps. Don't get me wrong, those are things we should be aware of, but it's also important to know that old peace-abiding societies can also be reborn. It's all a matter of changing out perspective on things.
