The Graveyard

I just came from visiting you at the graveyard
Where your home has been for two years now

It was warm and sunny and a beautiful day
Why do I feel cold and empty inside?

The leaves were crinkled, wrinkled and dark
Just like my heart feels when I stand there

Beside the cold gray stone of lost hope
Wishing you were standing with me

Through life’s stormy nasty weather
I need you here for one more kiss, one hug

One more ‘ I love you’ whispered in my ear
One more day of love and happiness

To ease the ache deep inside of me
Before I would have to give you back

To the graveyard

Very touching and brings tears to one's eyes to feel your deep love and loss for your soul mate. Wonderfully penned. Luv, Gail

Yes If we could have them back for just one more day, one more kiss...There is a song "One More Day" by Diamond Rio if you dont know it you should get it. It says "one more day, one more time, one more sunset maybe I'll be satisfied, but then again I know what it would do, keep me wishing still for one more day with you" (((Hugs)))
